DECEMBER CELEBRATIONS

on the 6th of December

On this day, around the school goes a student in a suit of Santa a gives us sweets. He walks with three girls. They are dressed up as Santa's helpers - snowflakes. They go into all classrooms and take photos with students. Students also sing carols in exchange for sweets.

CHRISTMAS IN OUR SCHOOL

When you walk into our school you’ll know that Christmas is coming. First thing you see while walking past the front door is a very Colourful Christmas tree, decorated by students every single year. The ornaments hanging on the tree are special cause they’re made by students. There’s a competition that’s about making the best looking and the most creative Christmas ornaments. Everyone from the school can take part, but only one person is going to win. Teachers have to chose only one from many which is sometimes really difficult in order everything is really pretty and has put much effort and love in it. The schools community is really into it because the price is always something special and everyone wants to get it. Also on all breaks between lessons  you can hear The sound of Christmas songs playing in the background. Few days between Christmas Eve people from each class are meeting in their classes bringing traditional dishes, and giving themselves presents. They’re spending time together like while the real Christmas time people do in their own houses with their families.

OUR CHRISTMAS TRADITIONS

In Poland before Christmas we usually bake gingerbreads and decorate a christmas tree. Our trees are so colourful and shiny. They have a lot of lights, baubles and other ornaments.

On a christmas table we have only twelve dishes. Also we always put a little bit hay under a tablecloth. In our opinion the most interesting thing is that we have one free place for unknown guest who comes to our home. On the Christmas Day each family meets together and celebrates. We start eating in the evening. But before it we make wishes and share christmas wafer with each other. Then we can eat something. And absolutely the most liked tradition especially by children. Namely opening presents. For gifts we must wait for first star in the sky. When it shows up our presents are under a tree brought by Santa or he come to us in person and give them to us. The truth says it’s everyone’s favourite moment in all the Holidays. And there’s only one more big tradition that we think of. It’s a midnight mass. Most people at this are adults because of its late time.

We hope that you liked our Christmas traditions and you will visit us in this beautiful and climatic time in the future.
